Peacock, my first independent project, is a dating concept which enables real-world interaction between strangers. The platform provides an IM service but initial connections can only be made between users who are in the same room as each other.
The conception of Peacock was inspired by my studies into iBeacon technology and experience of using existing dating apps. I realized that once out of the house, existing dating platforms are largely redundant. Initial research, conducted with students at Warwick University, indicated enthusiasm towards the concept.
I architected a platform where, though users have the ability to move randomly throughout the app, they are encouraged to take a purposefully linear journey in which public activity is incentivized. Aesthetically, I chose to make the app purposely minimal and mature to appeal to users in the target 21 – 35 age range.
